Catch Fruit is a classic falling-object arcade game with a bright, colourful twist. Fruit falls from the top of the screen at randomised horizontal positions: strawberries, bananas, watermelon slices, cherries, and golden star-fruit. You control a basket at the bottom of the screen, sliding it left and right to catch each piece before it hits the ground. Miss three pieces of fruit and the run ends.
Scoring uses a multiplier chain: catching fruit without a miss builds a consecutive catch streak. Every 10 consecutive catches increases your multiplier by 1×, up to a maximum of 5×. A single miss resets the multiplier entirely but does not affect the lives counter unless the missed fruit was one you needed to catch — bombs, which appear from Round 3 onward, end the run instantly if caught, but safely missing a bomb does not count as a missed fruit. Golden star-fruit (rare, appears glowing) awards 50 points regardless of multiplier and grants a brief invincibility window where catching bombs is safe.
The fall speed increases every 15 seconds. By Round 5 (75 seconds in), two or three fruit items fall simultaneously. By Round 10, the basket's movement speed also increases, compensating for the faster drop rate. The game supports both keyboard and touch: mobile players swipe left and right or hold a side of the screen to slide the basket. On a phone, the basket tracks your finger position in real-time, making it feel like a direct drag mechanic rather than a discrete swipe.
Parked at the centre, you can reach any column with one smooth move. Lurking at either edge means a centre-drop fruit is two moves away — one to reach it and one to recover.
A rare golden star-fruit gives 50 points, but breaking a ×4 multiplier streak costs you 4× the points on every catch until you rebuild. Only chase a star-fruit if it falls within one basket-width of your current position.
Bombs flash red before they appear — there is a 0.3-second warning flash at the spawn point. Train your eye to register that flash and begin moving away, not toward, the flash location.
